Obstetrics
Suita Municipal Hospital is one of the OGCS (Obstetrics and Gynecologic Cooperative System) member hospitals. OGCS is a medical network system between obstetric clinics and hospitals, which provides smooth and safe transport of obstetrically emergent patients. Our hospital accepts preterm births at 35 or more weeks of gestation and/or low birth weight of more than 2000g. We provide care for pregnant patients with complications under the cooperation of our Department of Internal Medicine and/or Surgery. We also work together with our team of anesthesiologists and pediatricians.
All nurses in our department have midwifery qualifications. Primary care nurses support each patient from the beginning of pregnancy to the postpartum period. Our team includes board-certified professional midwives who can take care of complications including gestational diabetes, thus we can give advanced individualized care.
Every pregnant patient will undergo the fetal ultrasound screening at 28-30 weeks of pregnancy. In cases when a fetal abnormality has been suspected, the patient and the unborn baby will be introduced to other hospitals that can offer more advanced examinations if needed.
We participate in the "After the Childbirth Care project" run by Suita City. The postpartum period is a time of emotional and physical instability. Support from family members is especially important during that period, but a lot of patients find it difficult to get enough support at home. Experienced midwives in our team will provide care and support for such patients. Patients can also use day services and/or accommodation services provided by Suita City. Gynecology
We treat malignant diseases by the guidelines of the Japan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, using a combination of surgical treatment, radiation, and chemotherapy. If highly advanced medical care is necessary, we introduce or transfer the patient to a specialized university hospital or cancer center with advanced equipment.
We offer surgical and non-surgical care for patients with benign gynecologic tumors such as uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts. We provide minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for benign tumors. Our faculty is certified as a training facility of the Japan Society of Gynecologic and Obstetric Endoscopy and Minimally Invasive Therapy.
We also provide care for patients with infertility, menstrual disorders, and menopause symptoms.
To achieve our goal of maintaining and promoting the health of everyone in this local area, we cooperate with other hospitals and clinics in the area.
